Provisional Programme of the Rail Forum Congress.

 

Everything is ready in Madrid for the 6th edition of the Rail Forum Madrid is ready to host the 6th edition of the International Rail Forum, a meeting that has become one the most important and influential events of the rail sector in the world.Organised by Montané Comunicación, the exhibition and congress will be set in the Pavilion 9 of Ifema in Madrid from the 11th to the 13th of November 2008.


The exhibition area will occupy more than 10.000 square meters, in which more than 120 stands will be held. Around 6500 visitors will be able to get to know directly the latest technologies of the private companies and the public administrations of the rail sector.

Parallel to the exhibition will be held a congress during these three days, to which will attend and exchange experiences the most important experts and public administrations representatives of the railway sector. More than a 130 speakers, from more than 20 different countries around the world, will present the most relevant projects such as important investments and foreseen developments of the sector. The high number of participants, exhibitors and national and international visitors in its previous five editions has made the International Rail Forum a reference point for business and rail innovation of the sector.

 

 

The rail market will undergo in the next 10 years a constant increase. Only in Europe, the average amount reaches 40.000 million euros. In this context, Rail Forum will take place in a country that is strongly backing the sector. The Strategic plan for Infrastructures and Transport (Plan Estratégico de Infraestructuras y Transporte (PEIT)) 2005-2020 implies investments close to 250 000 million euros in this period, which means an annual average of more than 15.500 million euros. Alongside this plan, the rail infrastructures of the independent public administrations plan whose joint investments rise to around 33.000 million euros.
